Geminor AS

Commercial Trainee, Sales & Business Development, Geminor Norway

Job description
About Geminor
Geminor trades waste and residual fuels across borders. The work combines regulation, logistics and commerce, and we operate in nine markets. Experience from other industries rarely transfers to what we do, so we are building the next generation of commercial talent ourselves. You can read more about us at http://geminor.no

The programme
This is a structured 18-month programme, the first of its kind in Geminor. You join a cohort of 3–4 trainees across our offices. You move through five phases, from learning how Geminor earns its money to owning a customer portfolio and delivering your own business development project. Your progress is assessed at five gates against a shared competence matrix. We welcome applications from final-year students graduating in 2027 as well as recent graduates.

How to apply
Send your CV, cover letter and transcript via apply button. The process includes a short interview, a real Geminor case task and final interviews in December.

Geminor is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.

Who you are
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (completed by summer 2027) in business, economics, engineering, logistics and supply chain, or environmental or energy studies
  • Fluent professional English, written and spoken
  • Willing and able to travel, and to spend several weeks at other offices
  • Curious about how a deal works, not just how to process it, and good at following through
  • An advantage: Norwegian or another Nordic language, German, Italian or Polish, sales or internship experience, and confidence building a margin calculation in Excel
  • No waste industry experience needed
What you'll do
  • Learn the commercial model, from gate fees and freight to FX and margin build-up
  • Support live customer and supplier dialogue, offers and shipment notifications
  • Work in operations, logistics and compliance, and spend a week at headquarters
  • Spend four-week placements in two other country offices
  • Take responsibility for your own portfolio, negotiate within a mandate and present a business case to management
  • Participate in four in-person training sessions alongside your fellow trainees, each covering different aspects of the role
What we offer
A fixed-term contract for the programme with a competitive graduate salary, reviewed at month 18. You get a dedicated line manager and a senior commercial mentor, with the aim of a permanent role at the end. We’d rather be upfront that the job involves a good amount of travel and administrative work alongside the exciting parts.
